3RD EYE OPENING
The botanical and common name Cosmos comes directly from the Greek kosmos, meaning order and harmony.  I associate this plant with opening and balancing the third eye chakra, although many people find it resonating with the crown chakra as well.
Cosmos shows us balance: the very balance that exists in our ecosystems, in our bodies, and yes, even in the cosmos.  There is a balance of inner and outer, material and spiritual within this flower.  As flower medicine, it offers us emotional balance, when we are feeling either too lofty, up in our heads, OR too rooted, unable to move. 
The third eye is the center of intuition: that which you can feel and see, beyond explanation or knowing.  Cosmos unblocks this channel and works to connect the inner mind with the internet cosmic mind.
