Aquarius Full Moon, August 11, 2022

Updated: Aug 11, 2022

Be yourself, follow your heart, think outside the box, have boundaries. What are you saying “no” to? What are you saying “yes” to? Connect with your higher self.

This is a time to be totally unique and totally you. Aquarius is the sign in the zodiac credited with originality and breaking tradition, in a way that ultimately sees what others do not see. Aquarius is inventive for the benefit of the collective.

Aquarius is the archetypal humanitarian, genius and revolutionary thinker.  As an air sign, guided by intellect, this Aquarius moon has us aligning our greatest ideas with our actions and projections here on Earth.

Aquarius is a community thinker, so this Full Moon would be an optimal time to gather with community to honor your highest ideals and exchange invaluable tools of communion with others to empower your goals on a collective scale.

Community exchange also gives you the valuable insight of being seen and heard.  It is still Leo season, after all.  Aquarius differs from Leo in that, wanting to be seen and heard is not necessarily in order to push one’s own agenda (as Leo can often be self-interested), but in wanting to connect with others .  Aquarius is an idea-magnet and loves to level the playing field, holding everyone as an equal being and treating all with respect and sincere camaraderie.

The moon is conjunct Saturn in Aquarius and squaring Mars.  It is really important to clarify: where do your boundaries lie? What do you need to say “no” to? What are you saying “no” to out of impulse and reaction? when you perhaps could be more flexible?  (Is Saturn acting upon you, or are you being Saturnian?) And what are you willing to say a resounding “hell yes” to?

Earlier this week Pluto opposes Venus in Cancer.  This transit supports radical honesty in our relationships.  Sometimes we need to shine light on the shadowy parts of ourselves that we don’t typically share.  Uncovering this darkness of the heart can allow us to love more fully: to love ourselves, and to love others for exactly for who they are—skeletons in the closet and all.

Aquarius, as an air sign, also offers idealism and the breath of life: “inspiration”.  The Saturn conjunction will offer a healthy dose of limitations to those ideals.  Come at this moon with an open heart and an open mind.  You may surprise yourself if you are listening deeply to your inner voices.

Journal prompts:

  1. What ideas am I most excited by and/or proud of?

  2. What do I need to say ‘no’ to in order to be a more healthy, happy version of myself?

  3. What inspires me?

  4. How can I begin to integrate my unique ideas into my greater community?

  5. What is my heart asking of me in this moment?

Meditation on Air:

Focus on the breath.

Feel the air coming in.

Feel the air going out.

Picture the inhale.

Picture the exhale.

Visualize the air all around you.

Air is the way you transmit waves of thought.

Air is sound.

The smells and the breezes.

The warm water vapor and the cool dryness.

Air can move dunes, creating sandstorms and shape-shifting mountains.

Air can steer ships.

Air is our connection to our body’s own aliveness.

Air is our symbiotic relationship to trees.

Air is freedom.

Return to the breath.

Focus on the breath.

Feel the air coming in.

Feel the air going out.

What is air to you?
